Background
The Fremantle Media Image Library holds over 250,000 iconic transparency images from the Golden Years of British Television. Images held included early shots of Tommy Cooper, Morecambe and Wise and The Beatles. Fremantle Media, the current rights owners this unique image resource wished to create a showpiece event to gauge commercial interest in the potential licensing of these images.
Brief
To design and create a unique brand identity to communicate the iconic nature of the imagery stored within the Library vaults. Once the identity was chosen, an exhibition was planned at the Fremantle Media head office in Central London and an exhibition at the Edinburgh Festival.
Solution
Briefed by Blueprint Media [a potential licensor with Fremantle Media], Flying Pig were allowed full access to the entire Library vault. We sourced a range of amazing images of some of the early stars of British Television for the exhibition and introduced a new brand identity which best captured the content of the imagery - ICONS.
Once the ICONS imagery was finalised the source files were cleaned and modified for production as large format pieces for London and as stretched canvas frames for the Edinburgh. Flying Pig designed the full suite of exhibition collateral - invites, email invites, posters and the supporting marketing and licensing literature for each event. As part of Flying Pig's near legendary customer service, one of our team flew to Scotland to actually install the ICONS exhibition at the Edinburgh Festival Venue.
